DING 2015: ““London solicitor and Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and of the Anthropological Society of London (of which he was Treasurer and Vice President). He belonged to the Arundel Club. In 1848 he created The Monthly Observer, a literary manuscript magazine. He helped writer George Meredith at the beginning of his career. He was a member of The Cannibal Club. He wrote several books on etymology, toponimics and patronymics as well as being the editor of a travel guide to Spain and Portugal.”.”
